In this weekend's gospel a poor widow gives everything she has to God trusting in His grace while others have donated to the treasury out of their abundance.  What does God want?  He wants our hearts given completely to Him.  Find out how we can give more of our lives to the King of Kings!!

This weekend's gospel gets to the heart of what it is to live a full life---we need to love God with all we have and to love our neighbour as we love ourselves.  Easier said than done but if we want a grace filled life that helps change the world this is what we need to do.  We do not do this alone but together on our way to the kingdom!!

The gospel reminds us to constantly cry out to the Lord like Bartimaeus seeking his mercy and love.  Jesus is always looking to help us see that his path is the best road to peace, love and eternal life.  This path requires us to set aside our agenda and embrace the life of the gospel.  Are you ready to do that??

In this short gospel we find the heart of discipleship---humble, quiet, loving service through the gift of the cross is our path to share the Good News.  How can each of us do this today?  Listen and find out more.

Fr. John concludes this message series sharing the future path for the Chatham Catholic Family of Parishes but also a need for change for all parishes to embrace the mission of the Gospel.  Fr. John talks about the young man in the Gospel wanting to gain eternal life—this can only happen when we let go of our own agenda/plans and follow the Lord without any distractions.  To be faithful disciples and followers of Christ, we must change and adapt often.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!!  As we give thanks to God this weekend, we reflect on what things in our lives are holding us back from entering into the Kingdom of Heaven?  It is hard to get to heaven not because God makes it difficult but because we choose so many other things than eternal life.  Our faith helps us stay on track for eternity.

The Sacrament of Marriage is a real tangible sign of God's love for us and our love for God.  Fr. John reflects on the call of love, sacrifice and service in marriage and how that helps all of us be better disciples of Jesus.

Fr. John begins a new message series called THE COMEBACK by setting the scene of the many storms in our world today that have overwhelmed us!!  Yet through many examples of various "comebacks" in history--we do realize that together as people of faith and with Jesus, we can share the Good News and mount a true comeback that changes the world!!

Jesus challenges us to purge what does not help us be faithful disciples in our own lives but also in the lives of others.  How are we instruments of hope and not a sign of loss?  Fr. John shares how we can do some fall cleaning this weekend.
