This coming weekend we hear the story of Jesus and the woman at the well.  Through this gentle conversation a conversion takes place as Jesus offers the Samaritan woman living water.  During our Lenten journey may we enter into dialogue with those around us discovering the living water of Christ who quenches the thirsts of our souls!

In the first homily of this series Fr. John reflects on the word REPENT defining what it really means.  We so often forget that it is more than just turning away from sin but completely transforming our lives so that Christ is at the centre.  This takes effort and the temptations Jesus endures in the desert from the devil helps us fully turn around and embrace the Lord.

This weekend we hear the scene of the Transfiguration in the gospel.  Jesus speaks to Moses and Elijah seeing the cross in the distance of Jerusalem. Listen to find out what we can learn from this scene in our lives today. Even though we cannot stay on the mountain top---we can be inspired to live the faith today.

This weekend we celebrate the First Sunday of Lent and hear Jesus being tempted in the desert by the devil.  The three responses Jesus gives to the three temptations offer us insight and a pathway for our Lenten journey of conversion, renewal and repentance. 

What does it mean to go the extra mile?  The Gospel this weekend helps us understand what it means to go beyond expectations and live a real Christian life today.  We are called to be generous, loving, compassionate and PERFECT.  Listen to find out more!

Fr. John concludes the message series talking about being SALT & LIGHT in our world today offering flavour, depth and grace while shining a light leading people to Christ.

In the gospel this weekend Jesus tells us to let our YES be YES and our NO be NO.  We cannot be lukewarm but we must make a decision each day backed with deeds that bring the gospel to fulfillment in our world today.  We are not to be legalistic but embrace the gospel in our hearts so that it can be lived out to change the world!

This weekend's gospel calls us to be salt and light for the world.  Through our faithful discipleship, we are chosen and empowered to offer joy, flavour and a zest for life in a way people will notice.  Jesus offers us a different path filled with grace and peace.  We are to be a shining light of hope in a world with a lot of darkness.  What does this really mean in practical terms?  Listen to find out.
