Fr. John concludes the message series challenging us to say YES OR NO choosing to follow Christ or ourselves.  May we always make the right choice.

Happy Lent everyone!!  We enter into the 40 days of this holy season and we hear Jesus lead by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.  Jesus was tempted to be someone other than himself----Lent helps us stay true to who God has made us to be.  The source of our happiness is to live as God made us---sharing who we are and what we have with others as faithful disciples.

The gospel this weekend encourages us to go the extra mile and discover the heart and passion of our faith.  We are called to be more righteous than the scribes and Pharisees while seeking to reconcile with one another.  Our faith is not about following rules but having a love for Christ and others.  May we allow the Lord to bring our lives to fulfillment!!

Fr. John continues with this latest message series inviting us and explaining what it means to be salt and light for the world. May we eagerly respond to Christ's call to serve, share and be faithful disciples!

Fr. John continues his message series on being faithful disciples---HERE I AM LORD, I COME TO DO YOUR WILL. He reflects on the need for meekness in our lives--which is not a weakness.

Fr. John interviews Renée Culverwell--Discipleship Lead for the Chatham Catholic Family of Parishes.  They discuss a new Lenten Small Group series open for all parishioners.  They discuss the importance of small groups to help become faithful and loving disciples.

We are called to be salt and light in the world today as faithful and loving disciples.  There are many opportunities in our family of parishes to bring the flavour of the gospel and the light of Christ in a world that is hungering and searching for truth, hope and joy.  May we all seek to help transform the world!

This weekend we hear Jesus proclaim the Beatitudes on a mountain top.  This is the framework and mission of discipleship for all of us.  We are called to be the best version of ourselves seeking to be meek, gentle, merciful and pure in heart.  Alone this may be extremely difficult, but with Christ and others---we can become what the Lord has anointed us to be.

Jesus calls us to build the kingdom by being fishers of people.  This means active engagement---reaching out and connecting with those who need healing, love, peace and Christ.  We do not sit back and wait but must search bringing the presence of the Lord to others.

We are baptized to become disciples---messengers of the Good News. How do we respond to God's invitation to help build the kingdom? It starts with us saying--HERE I AM LORD-----SEND ME!!
