Fr. John continues this special series reflecting on the GIFT OF LOVE that we receive in Advent. Although this is Gaudete Sunday---the Sunday of Joy, Fr. John wants to end the series with joy that leads to Christmas. In this reflection, Fr. John invites us to discover real love in our lives that only Christ can give and share with us. Our love must go beyond ourselves as pure gift expecting nothing but goodness for the sake of others.

Not through words but through actions of faithfulness, love and discipleship, Joseph responds to the angel who speaks to him in a dream. St. Joseph reminds us that our faith is rooted in actions and service for the sake of the Gospel. How are we signs of God's love in our world today?

In the Gospel this weekend, John the Baptist sends his disciples to see if Jesus is the one they have been waiting for. Jesus responds--look at what you see and hear. Where do we see and hear Jesus in our world today and do people see and hear Jesus through us?
